Quick update
It's been a really busy couple of months for me. All of a sudden the stars have aligned, and I'm finding myself able to help more and more people, for all sorts of issues.
A large part of my practice is helping nurses and other registered professionals with proceedings in front of their regulators. It's work I really enjoy, it's fulfilling, demanding and totally worthwhile.
Just two days ago, I was at the NMC in London for a hearing for a nurse client. She'd got herself in trouble outside of work by assaulting someone, that trouble meant she wasn't herself when she returned to work after being sentenced and got herself into more trouble at work. She was referred for an NMC hearing and was unfortunately suspended from practice for 12 months. When she got in touch with me she was distraught. With some hard work from her and guidance from me, we applied for a review of her suspension order, some 3 months into the suspension period. So, two days ago, I presented her application to the NMC panel and they agreed to lift the suspension and impose fair and reasonable conditions of practice instead. Cue one very happy nurse!
I must admit, I do get a little emotional when I see a nurse's reaction like that. It really means so much to them. It's well worth the time and effort. Plus I'll take hugs wherever I can get them!
