Disciplinary and other investigations can lead to fitness to practise referrals for professionals

Employer investigations often lead to fitness to practise referrals. Approached in the right way and at an early stage, with our help you can either prevent the referral, or at the very least make all of the right moves, to help you defend the referral when it comes.

We are here to help.

Many fitness to practice referrals start in the workplace, with an employer’s disciplinary investigation. Because of our experience with fitness to practise referrals, we can tell when an employer’s investigation is likely to turn into an NMC one. We know what can be done to minimise the chances of that referral. You may or may not have union assistance at that stage. Either way, we give you the right advice to get the right result for you.

Take a stand.

Whatever the allegation is, the way you deal with your employer’s investigation can make all the difference. The employer has its HR department, the NMC and other regulators have their legal teams - make sure that you arm yourself with targetted advice supported with experience gained through many disciplinary and regulatory investigations.

“I found Marc at a very critical time of a nightmarish disciplinary procedure. His advice was very timely and incredibly insightful. I followed the advice immediately which meant that I was able to show initiative and these actions worked in my favour at the end of the procedure. I was given a warning instead of losing my job. I’m over the worst by now and without Marc I wouldn’t be in the place I’m in now. I’m very grateful for Marc’s advice and presence with me at the background in a situation that I wouldn’t wish for my worst enemy. Thank you Marc!
