Results and more results.

A slew of results this past 7 days for me.  Firstly, a referral for possession of Class A drugs was successfully defended in both the Crown Court (I have colleagues who specialise in criminal court representation) and at the NMC, where the Case Examiners decided that there was no case to answer.

Secondly, the result in my previous post, where my client was given a warning by the Case Examiners for faking a training certificate.

Today, I have returned from an interim order hearing at the NMC, in a case where an interim conditions of practice order had been imposed earlier in the year in relation to theft of drugs from work and a subsequent criminal caution given to my client.  Again, I assisted in the defence of the criminal matter and my advice, given after experience of over 3000 interviews under caution, was instrumental in ensuring the matter did not go to court.  The conditions of practice order was reviewed today, and due to my submissions, the panel was persuaded to revoke the conditions of practice order.  This means my client will find it much easier to get a job, get back to work and ultimately stand a better chance of convincing the Case Examiners that no final panel hearing is necessary.

Interestingly (for me anyway), all of the 3 panel members today were ones that I had appeared before previously (one of them on multiple occasions), as was the legal assessor - and in fact the chair today was chair of the panel in my very first regulatory case.  It's nice to see familiar faces, especially when they keep giving my clients such excellent results.

I love a happy ending!
